Super stimpak is a more advanced version of the regular stimpak. While it heals more severe wounds, it also has unpleasant side effects.
The super version comes in a hypodermic, but with an additional vial containing more powerful drugs than the basic model and a leather belt to strap the needle to your limb.
Characteristics
In addition to healing, Fallout: New Vegas also adds the debuff "stimpak sickness" which happens after using a super stimpak. Its effects are STR -1 and AGL -1 and its duration lasts for around 3–4 minutes, and cannot be cured by Fixer but can be fixed with Buffout. It is very problematic, especially in combat, as it may cause the player to become overburdened and therefore slow in a critical situation.
Super stimpaks can be made at a workbench with a Science skill of 90 and combining a Leather belt, a mutfruit, a Nuka-Cola, and a stimpak.
Locations
- 3 super stimpaks can be obtained by pre-ordering the Mercenary pack.
- Doc Mitchell has one on him, and there is another in his house.
- There is one along with a regular stimpak in the Boat Rental Shack near Callville Bay.
- 5 can be obtained from Chomps Lewis if the player informs him that they will deal with the nearby deathclaws.
- There is a super stimpak located in Black Mountain's Storage building, Under a metal pot, on the first shelf on the left.
- In Dead Money they can be bought in a Sierra Madre vending machine if you have the super stimpak Vending machine code. Said Vending Machine Code is located in the Bell Tower next to the Gala Event Control Panel.
- With the Wild Wasteland trait, you can speak to Rex and ask if Jimmy fell down a well. It will add a map marker named Jimmy's well. At the location you will find a super stimpak along with many other items including a unique BB gun named Abilene Kid LE BB gun.
- 3 can be found in the Camp McCarran supply tent located in the south east corner of the courtyard
Related quests
A super stimpak is required for the side quest Restoring Hope if the player does not have 75 medicine.
