The Solar Scorcher is a Fallout 2 weapon.
[edit] Background
Main article: Laser Pistol
The Solar Scorcher is a special laser pistol which uses sunlight as energy source. In full daylight, the experimental photo-electric cells absorbs light and feeds the weapon for firing six shooting maximum, after which it must be reloaded.
This rare weapon was seen only in the Vault 13 in the armory before the events of Fallout, so before 2161. It might have been sent to the vault as a experimental weapon for test in real condition when opened.
It shoots a red laser bolt.
[edit] Sunlight
- One nice thing about this weapon is that it does use a special ammo, the sunlight, and does not cost any AP to reload and not ammunitions. However you may only recharge this weapon either under sunlight or bright light. Any kind of dimness (at night or be in a cave) will prevent this weapon from recharging. It is thus advisable that, should you use this weapon regularly, try to use in the sunlight and recharge regularly, especially after battle.
[edit] Note
- Reports of the Solar Scorcher not being in the supply room of Vault 13 during Guardian of Forever encounter have occurred after installation of Killap's Restoration Mod. This has been confirmed. In Killaps restoration patch, the Solar Scorcher has been moved to its original location in the EPA.
