The suave gambler hat is a piece of headwear in Fallout: New Vegas.

CharacteristicsEdit

It does not provide any Damage Threshold, but provides a bonus of 1 to Perception and can be repaired with pre-War hats. The female version is a "pillbox hat" with a black feather in front; the male version resembles the pre-War hat, but of a different style intended to resemble Indiana Jones' signature hat.

The suave gambler hat can be repaired with Pre-War hats, and as of the 1.3.0.452 patch, it can be repaired with all cowboy hats and Ranger hats.

LocationsEdit

• Found in the Indiana Jones Wild Wasteland encounter. The hat lies in a refrigerator (left to the road when walking from Goodsprings) that is located southwest of Goodsprings Cave. Follow the road from Goodsprings southeast towards Jean Sky Diving.

NotesEdit

• The Courier can obtain this hat without permanently having the Wild Wasteland trait by selecting Wild Wasteland when you first build the Courier, then by grabbing the hat, and then leaving the town boundary, where you can rebuild the Courier and take off the trait.

Behind the scenesEdit

• The hat and its related Wild Wasteland event are a reference to an infamous scene in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, in which the titular character survives a nuclear blast by locking himself inside of a lead refrigerator.
