Stripe is a miniature deathclaw found in the Big MT in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on .
Old World Blues
Stripe is a
Wild Wasteland encounter of a smaller-than-usual deathclaw found in Higgs Village inside of Gabe's doghouse. The doghouse is behind House 103. In front of Gabe's doghouse is a "chicken" leg and Gabe's bowl, a unique dog bowl. Gabe's bowl can be brought back to Doctor Borous to complete the quest A Brain's Best Friend.
Stripe is an
alpha male deathclaw that was modified to be much smaller than normal (about the size of a dog).
Gameplay attributes Edit
Despite his small size, he is quite powerful. Having slightly less HP than the
legendary deathclaw and slightly more than a deathclaw alpha male, he may kill players who are caught off guard (which can be very possible if you walk up to the dog house without expecting him there). However, Stripe will only pursue the player as far as the fountain before retreating back to the doghouse. He also can perform the leap attack that other deathclaws can. However due to his small size the range is much shorter but it's no less dangerous and damaging than a regular leap attack. Finally, due to his small size he can not outrun the player, somewhat limiting his threat.

Very aggressive: Will attack enemies and neutrals on sight. Foolhardy: Will never flee or avoid anyone. Helps friends: Will help friends and allies.
In addition to the chicken leg, the letters forming Gabe's name on the doghouse have been taken down, and replaced with letters spelling out "STRIPE".
If you loot a deathclaw hand from Stripe, then drop it next to his body it will be the same size a regular deathclaw hand.
Stripe, like normal deathclaws, will flee if hit with a flare from the flare gun.
Stripe appears only in the
Fallout: New Vegas add-on, .

Behind the scenes Edit
Stripe is a reference to the lead antagonist in the film
. Stripe has a somewhat similar appearance to the leader of the Gremlins named Stripe. Gremlins had a preference for chicken which is why a chicken leg is present. At the end of the film, he dies in a fountain similar to the one in the center of Higgs Village, which Stripe refuses to go near.
xbox360 Sometimes, Stripe will not appear, even if you have the Wild Wasteland trait.
[verified] xbox360 Stripe's health may be as low as a brahmin's.
[verified] pc xbox360 If you save when Stripe is alive, then kill and fully mutilate him and reload the save it is possible he will not or cannot attack the player while the player is in Higgs Village.
