This item is used in the construction of the Railway Rifle.

- Steam Gauge Assemblies are located throughout the Capital Wasteland. Four can be found in Warrington Station, which is found while doing the Tenpenny Tower quest (4x, but they all are considered "stealing" and lower Karma).
- 1 in Yao Guai Cave
- 1 behind the hard locked door in the Capital Building's Hall of Columns
- 2 inside Super-Duper Mart.
- 4 in National Guard Depot (lowest level, in a rack close to a ventilator).
- 1 in the RobCo Facility. First floor in the offices behind the reception desk. First cubicle on the left.
- 1 in Vault 108. Cloning Lab 2 lefts from the Living Quarters door, in the open room.
- 2 in the Republic of Dave in Dave's safe along with Ol' Painless and some caps. You must have Dave's key or successfully rig the election to open the safe.
