In the old times, St. Louis was a big city that was mostly destroyed during the Great War. Around 2197, the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel's Fang Squad encountered a large contingent of heavily armed super mutants in the region of St. Louis. They fought bravely against this overwhelming force and managed to radio in a distress call right before they were annihilated. Eight battle-hardened squads led by General Simon Barnaky rushed to the scene and engaged in pitched combat with the super mutants. While the Brotherhood was able to push them back initially, its losses were staggering. As a result, they needed to pull their forces out of there. At General Barnaky's request, the squad led by the one later known as the Warrior was sent to rendezvous with his mobile command center and execute the evacuation of the wounded Brothers. There were three groups to be evacuated, including the one led by General Barnaky, but only one, led by Paladin Emerald Solo was evacuated. All others were killed, with only Barnaky, who was taken prisoner by the super mutant High Inquisitor Toccamatta, and Burke (Fallout Tactics), who lived long enough to meet the Warrior, survived the slaughter.

After your briefing, go to the workbench to get two Repair, two Pilot skill books and some tool kits. Bring your whole squad into the APC and have them locked and loaded. Most of the super mutants here have M249 SAWS, with one, or, two M60s so when you kill them, take the weapon to replace your AK-47 and other guns. Go to point 1 and just drive by all the super mutants and let your squad do all the work. After you arrive at point 1, you will then be asked to go to point 2. You cannot get the APC through all the narrow spaces, so you'll have to go on foot. After you reach the gate near the super mutant base you'll see a man lying down, that is Burke (Fallout Tactics). Talk to him and he'll ask you to disarm (and take) the C4 that is attached to him. Use your Traps skill and then after you defuse the C4, he'll tell you about his undoing and then appears to commit suicide. DO NOT go inside the super mutant base because the mutants in there carry Browning M2s with .50 Cal DU rounds. Even if you go there with Advanced Power Armour, they'll take you out quickly. Go back to the APC and go to point 3. Be cautious, some of the mutants will surprise you with a couple rockets from their Rocket launchers if you are rushing, also, the path you will likely go through is covered with about 20 mines, so send a teammate with good Perception/Traps to disarm or destroy all the mines. After you see the destroyed BOS Humvee, go down and the Paladin will tell you to heal his team. (If you don't have a medic, Stimpacks will do nicely.) After you heal everybody fully, they'll go inside the APC, (If you don't have enough medkits, there are several inside a chest inside the enemy bunker to the northwest ). Now just go back to the insertion point using this guide (Only backwards) until you see the exit grid. (Mission Complete)

Rescue Barnacky:

even if you get throught those guys with Browning behind the bridge you won't find the general, if you want to find out to get there read on, but this might become a spoil of the game.

SPOILER

How to get to Mutants who "hold" Barnacky:

1. I used the prone exit from encounter bug to increase skills with guns (my guys had around 200+% of skills and stitch was my big gun man, there is a guy on this map that gives (you can loot) 15 rockets from (the guy on the hill near "MUTIES" writing (i killed him before he fired, might affect result or it was random))

2. the biggest problem is to get on the hill behind the bridge on point 1 in objectives, the uphill is mined, even with 150% traps i wasn't able to detect them, but there is a walk around, i used thrower (guy with granedes) to lure the melee mutants on mines, that way i could get uphill

3. use the rocket launcher and some fast attacks to take out the guys with browning (get out so they see you with guy with most armor (used turn mode) then get near that guy and fire rocket, hide, repeat until you kill them

there won't be General anywhere there, but you can get some brownings M2 and some extra cash + expierience there
