Lieutenant Colonel Smith is a character vocalized by the tour bot near Swan's Pond during the early stages of Road to Freedom in Fallout 4.

The tour bot switches from its robotic speech to Smith's, and General Gage's, when explaining the history of Boston Common.

Smith was a lieutenant colonel in the British Army during the American Revolutionary War. On the night of April 17th, 1775, Smith had assembled the officers present at Boston Common. He met with General Gage, who tasked him with gathering twenty-one companies of their best men and carry them with the utmost expedition and secrecy to Concord. Upon his arrival, he was to seize and destroy all artillery, ammunition, provisions, tents, small arms and all military stores. Initially, he had concerns about about the well-being of the Colonists present in the area, but Gage assured him that he and his men were not to plunder the inhabitants or damage any personal property.

At around midnight that same night, Lieutenant Colonel Smith would march with 700 Redcoats to face the American patriots in the Battle of Lexington and Concord, beginning the Revolutionary War.

Colonel Smith is mentioned-only in Fallout 4.

While Smith's full name is never mentioned by the tour bot, he is likely Francis Smith, lieutenant colonel of the 10th Regiment of Foot. He led twenty-one companies of light infantry and grenadiers, around 700 men, to Concord and was later promoted to major general in 1779.
