The Sierra Madre martini is a consumable item in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Dead Money.

...a surprisingly strong, restorative, and disgusting drink.— From in-game description, upon learning recipe

Characteristics

The Sierra Madre martini is a potent alcoholic beverage, discovered in the Sierra Madre. When consumed it provides a maximum health increase of 75 points, as well as a +4 to Endurance and +2 to Strength. Unusually for a form of alcohol it does not have any immediate negative effects, including dehydration when in hardcore mode; however, it does have a somewhat higher addiction rate of 15%, rather than the usual 10% seen in most other alcoholic beverages.

Crafting

Once you have located one of Dean Domino's Storage Suitcases, you can ask Dean to teach you how to make them.

To make one Sierra Madre martini you need:

It can be crafted at a campfire or active electric hot plate.

Variants

A misc item version of the Sierra Madre martini exists within Dead Money's files, but was not included in the game. This version is a miscellaneous item rather than a consumable, has a weight of 0.1 and no value, and does not provide any way of using or consuming it.

Notes

  • Sierra Madre martinis are not classified as either a food or medicine item, meaning the magnitude of their effects are not modified by any of the player's skills.
  • This item's effects are similar to Buffout, and in fact uses the same behind-the-scenes effects in order to work. It may be best considered an improved version of Buffout, rather than a form of alcohol.
  • It can be considered ironic that the drink has a higher addiction rate than other alcohol because of the description of it from the game saying it is a disgusting drink.
  • The tin can in the recipe is presumably used to mix the drink.
  • Given that the drink is described in-game as being "restorative," it may be that it was intended to restore 75 HP, rather than just temporarily increase maximum HP.
  • Warning: this drink causes addiction, yet once you are addicted, you can not cure the addiction until you can return to the Mojave Wasteland.
