...a surprisingly strong, restorative, and disgusting drink.— In-game description

The Sierra Madre martini is a consumable item in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Dead Money.

Characteristics[]

A potent cocktail developed by Dean Domino during 200 years of hiding in the Sierra Madre, it is created by toxins from the Cloud and pre-War junk food mashed together in a tin can. When consumed, it provides a maximum health increase of 75 points, as well as +4 Endurance and +2 Strength, though does have a somewhat high addiction rate of 15%, slightly off-putting its positive effects.

Crafting[]

This consumable can be crafted by obtaining the perk of the same name when in dialogue with Dean Domino after completing Find Collar 14: Dean Domino.

Variants[]

A misc item version of the Sierra Madre martini exists within Dead Money's files but was not included in the game. This version is a miscellaneous item rather than a consumable, has a weight of 0.1 and no value, and does not provide any way of using or consuming it.

Locations[]

  • Martinis have a 75% chance of being found in each of Dean's secret stashes.
  • Two bottles can be found in the Cantina Madrid, one behind the counter at the entrance, another on the ground in front of a urinal in the men's room.
  • One bottle can be found in the Villa, on the ground in the northwest corner of a courtyard covered in Cloud, to the north of the doors leading to the Residential District.

Notes[]

  • Sierra Madre martinis are not classified as either a food or medicine item, meaning the magnitude of their effects is not modified by increasing the associated skills.
  • This item's effects are similar to Buffout (except for the higher hit points and Endurance). In fact, it uses the same behind-the-scenes effects in order to work.
  • When dropped, its world model is a whiskey bottle despite not requiring an empty whiskey bottle when crafting it.
    • Similarly, despite the recipe involving using a tin can, the finished product is not stored in one. It also has a chance to inflict alcohol addiction despite the lack of alcoholic products in its creation.
  • The Sierra Madre martini is one of the few items that can be crafted that doesn't have a skill requirement.
  • Despite the fact that the Cloud is a highly toxic gas, and presumably its semisolid residue also would be, the preparation of the martini renders it perfectly drinkable.
  • Dean Domino claims to be the creator of the recipe, which requires residue from the Cloud, and nobody has been able to enter the Sierra Madre since the Great War over 200 years ago, yet several samples can be found inside the Sierra Madre Casino.
