Saint James is a slaver living in Westside in 2281.
Background
In sharp contrast to his name, James is anything but a saint. He and his partner Dermot used to be or claim to be prospectors although in reality they are slavers selling refugees, mostly young girls as slaves to the Fiends.[1] Possessing a rude attitude, he often rents a room in the Casa Madrid and favors sleeping with the hooker Sweetie. Recently, James has been propping a teddy bear near him on a table during his sexual sessions with her, as if it is watching them. Sweetie describes this behavior as "creepy and perverted"[2] but not the worst she's dealt with.
Captain Parker suspects that the bear originally belonged to a little girl that went missing from Aerotech Office Park.[3] According to notes in his ledger, James' partner-in-crime Dermot stole the bear from the girl he abducted and gave it to the former as a bribe to keep him from touching the girls for sale, as the raiders do not appreciate used goods.

Notable quotes
- "I don't know a thing about no missing refugees from that Aerotech camp. Go cry to somebody else."
- "You got his book? Dermot, this bitch got your book! She got your book!"
- "That's private. I don't go asking about how you like to get laid, and I don't wanna know. Enough of that."
Appearances
Saint James appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.
Bugs
- The Coyotes quest. [verified] At around 12:00 midnight, James will try to go inside to his apartment room. However, he does not have a key and can not get in (unless the player has picked the lock on the door). He will walk back and forth outside his apartment room until he is scripted to go back outside. This prevents the player from being able to slip into his room behind him to search for clues during
- After being given the quest, St. James never shows up at Casa Madrid. The map marker points to an unreachable location, sometimes near the Lucky 38 or the Monorail. Impossible to complete if this happens. Some players can't find him even before the quest is given, even through waiting. This means the quest can't be begun or completed. [verified]
- Occasionally, after killing St. James, his corpse will still show on the map as a quest marker. [verified]
