The Rocket Launcher is a shoulder-mounted, recoilless rifle that fires rockets.
[edit] Fallout and Fallout 2
- In Fallout, this weapon was very useful, capable of doing massive damage to clustered targets from a long-range. *In Fallout 2 however, by the time the player finds the weapon and can access a consistent supply of ammo for it, they're likely near the end of the game, where enemies tend to wear Power Armor of some sort.
[edit] Locations
- In Fallout 1 the first person you can buy the weapon from is Zack of the Gun Runners, at the east end of Boneyard.
- In Fallout 2, the weapon can be found in the storage room outside Sierra Army Depot, and several rockets can be found in the Depot's armory.
[edit] Fallout Tactics
The Fallout Tactics incarnation of the Rocket Launcher is similar to those in Fallout and Fallout 2, but benefits from increased damage and a number of different types of ammo for it. This is the first weapon the player will encounter in the Big Guns class of weapons, unless he or she has found one of several special encounters. It is first found in Macomb. In terms of gameplay, the Rocket Launcher is a solid choice for taking out large enemies such as Super Mutants, despite it having a high AP cost to fire and heavy ammunition.
This version is visually identical to an RPG-7, fitting in with Fallout Tactics' modern weapons.
[edit] Locations
- Macomb: a raider with a rocket launcher and one rocket is found at the sandbag barricade in the centre of the map; a raider with a rocket launcher and two rockets is crouching on the balcony just North of the exit grid. Use Sneak and burst-mode combat shotgun to kill them before they waste a rocket.
