Founded in 2042 by Robert House, by 2049 RobCo had become one of the most powerful corporations in the world, rivaling even Poseidon Energy. By 2077, their patented software and robotic designs formed the cornerstone of American industry, exemplified by the 2075 Unified operating system, which was used in nearly every computer system on American soil in the years just before the Great War.
The company had numerous joint design and manufacturing ventures, including developing the Pip-Boy for Vault-Tec and the Liberty Prime project with General Atomics International and the US Army. In 2075, RobCo purchased REPCONN Aerospace, allowing the company to enter the aerospace industry.
