From The Vault

The Recon Craft Theta Pilot is a dead alien found at the Alien Crash Site.
Contents |
[edit] Background
This dead alien was probably sent out by Mothership Zeta to probe the Earth with its craft, the Recon Craft Theta, and ended up crashing in the Capital Wasteland.
[edit] Location
You will find him at the Alien Crash Site. To get to the Alien Crash Site, go to the MDPL-13 Power Station, and follow the power lines north until you come across the alien distress signal. The signal is called the Recon Craft Theta Signal on your Pip-Boy 3000. You can follow this to the site as it gets louder and clearer as you get closer, and will start to become irradiated if you get close to it.
[edit] Notes
- The alien cannot be interacted with or looted.
- Like an object, when you shoot it the pilot doesn't bleed or explode. It is "unbreakable".
- Its alien suit is unique, not even on Mothership Zeta will you see a suit like this.
- Since it looks like a stereotypical alien from movies from the 1950's, it could be a reference to a "1950's alien".
- Also, what is known is that upon downloading the Mothership Zeta add-on, the aliens of Mothership Zeta beam you and the craft up to their ship, and in fact you will see the craft during the main quest of the add-on. The aliens did not, however, beam up the dead alien.
- The pilot has some interesting properties when picked up. First, it is weightless, and will sometimes even hover perfectly horizontally. Also, the pilot rotates and flips in a circular pattern when picked up by the head, exactly like the Chinese Stealth Armor when picked up by the helmet as an item. Also, if you drag it around a bit, its head disappears. (Confirmed on all platforms)
- Its body is next to an Alien Blaster and 120 Alien Power Cells.
[edit] Appearances
Recon Craft Theta Pilot appears only in Fallout 3.
[edit] Bugs
- Sometimes, upon the first return to the Wasteland after completing the Mothership Zeta add-on, the body will be stuck in the ground. (Confirmed PS3 and XBOX 360)
- Spawning over 50 alien bodies at once can ruin a save file. (Confirmed PC)
