proton axe is a weapon in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on .
Old World Blues
The proton axe resembles a futuristic war-axe with a glowing blue blade of electrical energy at its head. On the other side it has two capacitors which also share the same blue electric current. It does electrical damage with extra damage against robots and
power armor users. It can be repaired with the inexpensive proton throwing axe, raising its resell value drastically.
Special attack Edit
It has a
special attack that does 200% damage in Proton Electrocutioner V.A.T.S. at the cost of 13 more action points (requires a Melee skill of 50).

It is possible to
execute Proton Electrocutioner outside of V.A.T.S. (without the required Melee skill of 50 to perform the move) by initiating a power attack (hold attack button) while moving forward.
The proton axe can successfully strike about 995 times from full
condition before breaking.

The technology used by this weapon appears to be similar to the electric weapons created in the Secret Vault by Vault-Tec.
The proton axe is based on the proton ax of , the 1980s game which is considered to be Wasteland Fallout's predecessor.
