Pre-War Money
From The Vault
| ||||||||||||||
Pre-war money is the currency of the former United States. Although faded, the notes appear to be American dollars. Pre-war money is no longer the official currency of the United States; the actual currency varies from region to region. The West Coast has developed a new currency after having used bottle caps for a number of years. The DC region, however, still uses these caps, having no means to produce its own currency.
In Fallout 3, pre-war money appears as a stack of indistinguishable bills. The item is valued at 10 caps per stack. Pre-war money is somewhat plentiful. It can be found nearly anywhere money might be found in real life such as Cash registers, safes, and desks. For whatever reason, it can also be found in Garbage Cans. The Super-Duper Mart is one location that has a large quantity of Pre-war money located in each register at the checkout.
[edit] Uses
Despite being a misc. item, pre-war money has proven very useful to wastelanders. Its weightlessness makes it an ideal item to sell to merchants; it is also useful as ammunition for the Rock-It Launcher, though it is somewhat expensive to buy from merchants. Or you could sell it for decent caps. Multiples are a great decoration for your heart shaped bed in any Love Machine Theme Safehouse.
