Pauline Wins is an "up-and-coming convict" living with her partner Sammy Wins at their hideout in 2281.

Background

Prior to the events of the game, she and Sammy rob the Vikki and Vance Casino and take Vance's lucky hat, Vikki's bonnet, and Vance's 9mm Submachine Gun. Although they get caught by Primm Slim, Pauline hacks into him while Sammy steals all of the loot. Afterwards, they head back to Westside to plan a big heist that involves robbing one of The Strip's casinos. Regardless of the fact that both she and Sammy state the only gun they possess is Vance's gun, if she becomes hostile to the player she will equip a separate submachine gun.

• A Pair of Dead Desperados, II: Pauline and her boyfriend Sammy are planning to rob all the casinos on the Strip with their newly acquired gun. You can convince them that their plan will fail with a Speech check of 55.

Notes

• There is no karma or reputation loss for killing both of them and taking their hats, but they do not drop a key to the safe when they die. The PC must either pass the speech check of 55 or pick the very hard lock that requires 100 in lockpick if they wish to open the safe and retrieve Vance's 9mm Submachine Gun.
• They claim to be very tough, yet if you kill Sammy and holster your weapon Pauline will not attack.

Bugs

• If you kill Pauline and Sammy, you can loot Vikki's Bonnet and Vance's Lucky hat out of their inventories. You will be able to wear them but they will still be worn by Paulines' and Sammys' corpses.
