[edit] Notable loot
- Nuka Grenade - uppermost level inside a crate underneath a desk in the South West corner, the desk is near a vending machine and has a bucket next to it containing a RadAway (underneath a book)
- .44 Magnum , on a desk, hidden under a fallen filing cabinet, on the east side of the upper level.
- Various Ammo including .44 Magnum Round.
- Two of the rarer Police Hats can be found. One is in an office near a cash register, and another is in the center of the room perched above the toilet on a piece of concrete jutting out from a supporting column. Standing on the empty Deathclaw cage enables access.
- A reasonably rare Bubblegum can be found on the very bottom floor in the southeast corner.
- Two Mini Nukes, sitting on a ledge inside of the fallen length of radio tower in the center of the area. To reach them, you have to make your way up to the east side of the highest level of the building and jump into the length of tower's open end.
[edit] Appearances
Old Olney S. Wilson Building appears only in the Fallout 3 add-on Broken Steel.
[edit] Points of Interest
- Tucked away behind some filing cabinets in the northwestern corner at the same level as the door to the Olney Powerworks entrance, there is a Teddy Bear playing "cards" with a Garden Gnome using Metro Tickets as cards. The Garden Gnome is smoking and has a pair of Eyeglasses. There is a Whiskey, two Shot Glass and an Empty Whisky Bottle close at hand. One would assume that the Pre-War Bonnet and the Sexy Sleepwear next to the Teddy Bear means the game is not going well for the Gnome. Both the hat and the Sleepwear are at 100% condition.
- It is possible to get to the upper levels, try climbing the rubble that is immediately to the left as you enter the open zone. An inquisitive player is rewarded by finding small amounts of more exotic ammo and some chems on the upper floors, such as Electron Charge Pack in buckets, as well as access to Ammunition Boxes and Nuka-Cola machines.
- You must climb to this upper level to get the real prize of this area: two Mini Nukes. They are sitting on a small ledge high within the grating of the radio tower that fell into the center of the building (the GNR billboard is leaning against it). To obtain them, climb to the highest level reachable via the pile of debris to your left as you enter. Make your way along the east wall (the one on your right as you enter) until you reach two Nuka-Cola machines (one has fallen over). Step toward the center of the building, to the edge, just to left of the desk, and take a flying leap into the broken mouth of the fallen radio tower. If you extend your jump as far as possible, you should be able to land on the ledge with the Mini Nukes.
[edit] Notes
- Be prepared to fight four Enclave soldiers here.
- An Enclave Vertibird is on the topmost level, inaccessible to the player. However, it attempts to leave after the player begins firing, at least until it explodes. Also of note is this Vertibirds rotor backgrond noise is one of the few ambient noises to stop when you go into your Pipboy 3000 display.
