The unnamed newscaster was an anchor for an unknown news channel before the Great War.

Background

On one day, he reported on the high number of reservations that the Vault-Tec Corporation were receiving for their vault shelters, with the rising tensions between the United States and China boiling to the brink of war. During the Great War, he gave an emergency broadcast and rolling coverage of the nuclear detonations occurring throughout the country to the American public. After informing the population that the states of New York and Pennsylvania had been hit, the broadcast either came to an end immediately after or temporarily cut out until the next round of information. His ultimate fate is unknown.

News

The newscaster reports the following regular news on the TV. They will eventually repeat.

War reports

After being alerted by Codsworth during War Never Changes the following lines can be heard:

Followed by... yes, followed by flashes. Blinding flashes. Sounds of explosions... We're... we're trying to get confirmation... But we seem to have lost contact with our affiliate stations... We do have... coming in... confirmed reports. I repeat, confirmed reports of nuclear detonations in New York and Pennsylvania. My God.

After that a stand-by screen will be shown on the TV.

Notes

  • His location can be accessed by using the console command coc PrewarTVStudio.

Appearances

The unnamed newscaster appears only in Fallout 4.

Behind the scenes

While covering sports, the newscaster states "Something that is, unquestionably, inescapably, American. I am referring of course, to our great national pastime, baseball." This is a reference to a radio broadcast by President John Henry Eden in Fallout 3.
