Michael Masters is a ghoul residing in Warrington Station in the year 2277.

[edit] Background
Before the Great War, Michael was a scientist. He claims that they were making real scientific progress, but people got hurt while doing so. "And then those goddamn bombs fell."
He also says he used to vacation in Tenpenny Tower.
[edit] Interactions with the player character
Upon first meeting Michael he'll ask you who you are trying to make you go back the way you came. If you complete the Tenpenny Tower (quest) by convincing the other residents to let the ghouls in, Michael will have a shop and will sell you random guns, ammo, and other items with a nice discount.
[edit] Inventory
| Apparel | Weapon | Other item | On death |
|---|---|---|---|
| Motorcycle Helmet Wasteland Settler Outfit |
10mm SMG | - | - |
[edit] Notes
- When you first meet him at the Warrington Station, his inventory will be mostly random junk. If you let him and the Ghouls enter Tenpenny Tower he will take over Gustavo's and Lydia Montenegro's shop, meaning he'll sell weapons, ammo and junk, with a rather big discount. It is worth noting that you can buy a Dart Gun schematic from him even if you bought one from Lydia before.
- Notably, he shares the quote 'I don't want to waste bullets on your sorry hide' with Lucas Simms of Megaton. Both NPCs greet the player upon their arrival and will turn hostile if the player chooses appropriate dialogue options.
[edit] Appearances
Michael Masters only appears in Fallout 3.
[edit] Quotes
- "Karma's a real bitch, you'd be wise to remember that."
- "I don't want to have to waste bullets on your sorry hide."
- "I wasn't always like this. I was a goddamn scientist. We were doing great things. Amazing things!"
- "Go live your life, kid."
[edit] Bugs
- If you decide to kill all the residents and let the ghouls move in, when you walk into tenpenny tower you may see him walk towards the door and then walk out. If you follow him he will walk towards the main exit then disappear when he gets to the potted plants, and you will hear the sound that happens when you go through a grate. If you search Warrington station he will be nowhere to be found.
- If you kill Michael Masters before you end the Tennpeny Tower quest with good karma, you can't buy from Lydia Montenegro's shop. Meaning, you can't buy anything for your Tenpenny Tower house.
- May not be a bug: He, unlike other ghouls, has human eyes instead of ghoul eyes.
- May be hostile for no apparent reason upon first meeting. Only known solution is to load a previous save. (Confirmed Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
- May be hostile for no apparent reason while inside the tower. Only known solution is to load a previous save. (Confirmed Xbox 360)
- If you buy the Dart Gun schematics from Lydia, before you let the ghouls into tenpenny tower, Michael Masters will sell an additional copy.
