[edit] Fallout

  • Garl, leader of the raiders near Shady Sands, wears this.
  • Looted from a gambler in Junktown's casino. If you have an NPC, you can pick his pocket until he turns hostile, then allow the NPC to kill the gambler. This will prevent the guards from becoming hostile (although other gamblers may attack you).
    • Must be looted before completing the quest to take out Gizmo for Killian. The gambler and everyone else in the casino will be gone after killing Gizmo.
  • If you accept the quest from Irwin in the Hub to clear his farm of raiders, a set can be found on the farm. The map cannot be revisited, so there is only one opportunity to grab the armor.

[edit] Fallout 2

  • There is one in a locked locker in Vault City's corrections center, you have to sneak to take it without being attacked by the guards.

The metal armor in Fallout 3 appears to be taken from a variety of scrap pieces; the upper torso piece on the Female variant looks somewhat like a flattened out and reshaped motorcycle fuel tank, for instance. The Metal Helmet's looks like a white closedfaced, armor-plated motorcycle helmet for males and like a metallic, openfaced, topless (showing hair) armor-plated helmet for females.

The Pitt adds a separate, but not unique, variant of Metal Armor to the mix: Gamma Shield Armor.

  • Metal Armour can be bought from the Quartermaster in Bunker Beta after the Peoria mission when the Warrior is Rank 3 (Squire). Because Stitch is Good Natured it is economic to recruit him and use him when buying from (or selling to) the Quartermaster (even if you then get rid of him again immediately).
  • The Hermit sells a single suit of Metal Armour for Ring pulls.
