The Mesquite Mountains camp site is a location in the Mojave Wasteland. It is located due north of the Mojave Outpost and south of the Mesquite Mountains Crater.

Layout

There are two tents each containing two beds at the upper site. East of the camp and below the ledge has the abandoned vehicles that may have brought refugees to the site. However, giant radscorpions have taken over the main campsite and radscorpions of various sizes inhabit the area surrounding the camp.

Related quests

  • This is the location that Private Edwards will go to if you tell him that there are many places to go during the quest We Will All Go Together. He will often have been killed by the three giant radscorpions that are in the area.

Notes

  • To the southwest of that location there are 3 graves with various items in them. It's quite a bit away from the camp uphill. From the campfire just go straight south and when you reach the big rock terrace go straight west. You will need a shovel in order to loot the graves.
  • Be careful when you load a saved game in this area; the radscorpions will re-spawn.

Appearances

Mesquite Mountains camp site appears in Fallout: New Vegas.

Bugs

  • Playstation 3Playstation 3Playstation 3 When trying to pick up the Wasteland Survival Guide, it can sometimes fall into the ground and you won't be able to pick it up. To deal with this, save your game before trying to pick up the guide. Then Approach slowly and just target the book with your crosshairs properly and click your button to fetch it in one hit. Don't try to pull it somewhere and it should be no problem. Or just try to walk into a spot where you can reach it and it reappears and simply take it.
  • Xbox 360Xbox 360 It is possible to consistently lose one of your followers or companions in this area. Simply walk to this area from Mojave Outpost, and engage in combat with the radscorpions. Upon completing the combat, you will notice one of your followers is now missing, but without a message that they've died or been knocked unconscious. This has happened with both ED-E (while also traveling with Veronica), as well as Arcade Gannon. Gannon returned via the Vault 22 Elevator "trick", however ED-E did not, though is still considered in the party.
