Best prices around so long as you don't try putting anything someplace it was never intended. How's that sound?

Maude is an elderly female prostitute working for Pretty Sarah at the Casa Madrid in Fallout: New Vegas.

Background[]

The oldest prostitute at the Casa, Maude considers herself spry enough to make a living out of sex work (provided her back doesn't give out), compensating for the lack of her looks with experience[1] and turning out the lights to make customers focus on the places that are "still firm enough."[2] She does draw the line at "putting anything someplace it was never intended", however, and anal sex is very much off the table with her.[3] Furthermore, she is also beginning to become more forgetful in her old age.[4]

While Maude has plenty of confidence, Pretty Sarah considers her to be the "discount" option for customers who can't afford Sweetie (Maude asks for just a quarter of what Sweetie does) or who like older women.[5] Sarah is Maude's first female employer, and while it was odd at first, Maude got used to it after Sarah proved she was tough enough to handle the trouble of the business.[6] After all, she can handle Marco, the landlord, who considers Maude to be the equivalent of beef jerky.[7]

Maude is homophobic, disapproving of Jimmy and considering Sweetie perverted for having female clients.[8] The fact that the younger woman is far more popular and a better earner certainly escalates matters.[9] However, Pretty Sarah keeps her in line, ensuring peace at the Casa, especially when it comes to splitting the earnings.[10]

  1. The Courier: "Aren't you kind of old to be doing this?"
Maude: "Old but spry, honey. So long as my back don't give out, I can make a living lying on it. May not be as fresh as Sweetie or Jimmy, but Pretty Sarah keeps me around for a good reason - experience!"
    (Maude's dialogue)
  2. The Courier: "<75 caps> What the hell. Let's do it."
Maude: "You won't notice anything once the lights are out, hon. The places that count are still firm enough..."
    (Maude's dialogue)
  3. The Courier: "I'd like your services."
Maude: "Best prices around so long as you don't try putting anything someplace it was never intended. How's that sound?"
    (Maude's dialogue)
  4. The Courier: "I'd like your services."
Maude: "No discounts for repeat customers... I think we did it before, anyways."
    (Maude's dialogue)
  5. The Courier: "Who's the merchandise?"
Pretty Sarah: "Three flavors to choose from - Sweetie, Maude, and Jimmy. Sweetie's the house favorite, for reasons that should be obvious. Maude is what you might call the discount rack. She's what a customer wears if he doesn't have the caps to afford Sweetie - or just likes them old. Jimmy's more of a "specialist." I only hear good things."
    (Pretty Sarah's dialogue)
  6. The Courier: "You work for Pretty Sarah?"
Maude: "That's right. Strange at first, having a woman for a pimp, but she's tough enough to handle any trouble so far."
    (Maude's dialogue)
  7. The Courier: "Tell me about Maude."
Marco: "Old Maude... Sometimes you can afford the creamy veal of a Sweetie, and sometimes you got just enough caps to buy a tough piece of jerky. {Ha!}"
    (Maude's dialogue)
  8. The Courier: "I'd like your services."
Maude: "If you're looking to get perverted, go talk to Sweetie. She's less particular than I am."
    (Maude's dialogue)
  9. The Courier: "Tell me about Sweetie."
Maude: "She's a good earner. Of course, she don't care who she sleeps with or what they do to her."
    (Maude's dialogue)
  10. The Courier: "Tell me about Pretty Sarah."
Jimmy: "She's an honest woman. Splits the earnings fair, and keeps Sweetie and Maude in line. Minds her own business, too. She knows what it's like for people to go through things they'd rather not talk about."
    (Jimmy's dialogue)
