The Master is the leader of the mutant faction that was set to appear in the Fallout Movie.

Background[]

Early life[]

Unable to afford a space in a Vault, he created the Forced Evolutionary Virus to adapt fallout survivors like himself to hostile radiation conditions.[1] Unfortunately, it is not known how he managed to create FEV, or from what. Nonetheless, the formula not only worked but also imbued its hosts with unexpected super-human side effects. It did, however, also make the mutants sterile, and so their only means of reproduction was to force the virus on humans. Consequently, the Master turned the Los Angeles basin into a lush jungle with G.E.C.K.s, in order to appear as an inviting Oasis in the wasteland, drawing in humans from miles around. Los Angeles thus acted as a cleverly self-perpetuating cattle field for the Master's experiments. Humans were then captured and the F.E.V. was used to convert them into mutants within mere hours. It seems the imperfection of the F.E.V., in that its hosts could not reproduce naturally, led the Master to test all sorts of genetic combinations for years.[2]

Fallout film[]

He hoped that Hero and Female Officer might finally be the solution, and that they would come to be the 'Adam and Eve' from which his master race would descend.[3] It was for this reason that, along with the help of Dekker, his mutants ambushed Hero, Max, Female Officer and Scholar within Dekker's club.[4] After a lot of dealing, with Scholar initially selling out his friends and then being out-dealt by Max, the trio from Vault 13 are captured and taken to the Cedars-Sinai medical labs for conversion.[5]

After it turned out Max's betrayal was not real and he rescued them, the group returned swiftly to Vault 13. The Master and his mutants followed him, and they fought against the Vault in the final 3-way battle.[6] Outside the Vault, while Hero deals with the mutated Scholar, Female Officer and Max take on the Master as the battle rages all around them, inside the Vault and out.[7] The pair manage to defeat him, and once the dust is settling, and Max's dues are settled too, he goes to leave. However, the Master was merely faking, and so he injects Max with the last strain of F.E.V. It is at this point that he is finished off for real, and, moments later, Max shares his fate.[8]

Appearances[]

The Master was set to appear in the canceled Fallout film by Interplay Films.
