Mass purified water is a campfire recipe in Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics

Mass purified water is, as the name indicates, a way of purifying large quantities of water. The Courier can use this recipe to turn 5 bottles of dirty water into 4 bottles of radiation-free purified water.

The recipe requires a Survival skill of 50, a campfire, and the following items:

The recipe yields 4 purified waters. In addition, this recipe will return the non-water items used in the recipe, namely the surgical tubing and glass pitchers, allowing them to be used again in purifying another batch of dirty water. There is no limit on the number of times this can be done, effectively providing a cheap, inexhaustible method of turning dirty water into purified water.

Notes

  • Although this recipe works on dirty water, there is no corresponding recipe for purifying irradiated water.
  • Prior to patch 1.2.0.31x, this recipe called for one unit of RadAway and a pressure cooker, as well as a total of thirty bottles of dirty water. The recipe yielded 30 bottles of purified water, but only those bottles of water; it did not "return" any of the tools used in the process, requiring the player to seek out another set of pressure cookers, surgical tubing, and glass pitchers.
