Marie is the daughter of Ishmael Ashur and Sandra Kundanika, and touted as the cure for Troglodyte Degeneration Contagion in 2277.

She was born with a natural resistance to radiation and Troglodyte Degeneration Contagion, and because of this unique gift she has been studied by her parents to find a cure to help with the constant radiation in The Pitt.

- She weighs 5 pounds.
- Teddy Bears are her favorite toy.
- When observed closely, Marie squirms in her crib.
- Once the player picks her up, she becomes a quest item called Baby and therefore cannot be dropped.
- The Baby item uses the Garden Gnome world model.

The name Marie for someone who is a Cure may be a reference to Marie Skłodowska-Curie, a Polish Scientist and Nobel Prize winner who discovered numerous radioactive elements. She died of radiation poisoning.
