Major John Pitcairn (December 28, 1722 - June 17, 1775) was a Scottish Marine officer deployed to the British colony in Massachusetts at the start of the American Revolutionary War.


In 1774, he was given command of 600 British Marines attempting to keep order in the colony. He was also in command of the march towards Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775, marking the start of the American Revolution. He was shot and killed during the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1755, and was buried under the Old North Church in Boston.


The remains of Maj. John Pitcairn can be found in the Railroad HQ, in the second tomb to your right as you enter.


John Pitcairn is mentioned only in Fallout 4.
