A machete is a very long knife designed to hack through vegetation. In the wasteland, the machete is popular as a lightweight, practical alternative to swords.
Variants[]
Machete (Fallout: New Vegas)[]
This big, long, sharp blade is good for cleaving limbs off of the native Joshua trees or an unlucky mutant. A sharpened rectangular lawn mower blade taped to a wooden handle. Common legionary equipment.

Machete gladius[]
Front-heavy and purpose-built for combat, these weapons were fashioned after ancient Roman Gladius swords by the Legion.
Broad machete[]
A short, broad-bladed machete. Appears to be pre-War or finely crafted. Only known to be carried by Courier Six.
Poisoned machete[]
A poisoned blade used by White Legs pain makers. Not accessible to the player character without the use of console commands.
Machete (Fallout 4/Fallout 76)[]
A purpose built machete commonly found in Appalachia and the Commonwealth. May be modified with a sacrificial blade.
