The weapon is perhaps the most devastating in the game. It easily destroys large groups of enemies in a fairly wide range and with great efficiency, about triple that of the Browning M2, though at shorter ranges.
In terms of power, the Gauss minigun has no equal from any other weapon with its average combat range. The only noticeable disadvantages of the Gauss minigun are the large amount of the very rare ammo type it consumes, and its somewhat limited, though roughly above average, maximum range.
