Longfellow's cabin is a location and possible settlement on the Island in 2287.

Background[]

A small island directly north of Far Harbor is home to Old Longfellow and his cabin. While in settlement build mode, the Sole Survivor will notice the buildable area is large, about one third the size of Spectacle Island. However, using the full build area can be tricky due to the sheer cliffs that drop into the water. Nevertheless, one is able to build on most of the island, around the main building and beyond.

Layout[]

A small path leads from the southern beach north and east through a shallow ravine to the cabin. The cabin is small, much like the bungalows at Sunshine Tidings co-op. Inside is a bed, a few containers, and scattered household goods. A cooking station is outside the cabin.

Directly behind the cabin to the east is a shed housing the workshop, a weapons workbench, and a power armor station. Five fog condensers surround the property, and a rickety wooden boardwalk runs along the cliffs above the eastern shoreline. A beached ship is off the coast to the north, and a small cemetery is submerged south of the island near the pilings for Far Harbor.

Related quests[]

Notes[]

  • The settlement is obtained through the quest Walk in the Park. The settlement becomes available upon completing the quest and talking to Old Longfellow.
  • One can create supply lines between Longfellow's cabin and settlements in the Commonwealth.
  • One can also build trade caravan posts to attract wandering merchants from the mainland.
  • The settlement will be impossible to use (with a message indicating the player character cannot use the workshop here until the Fog is cleared, despite the fact the fog condensers appear to be already operating effectively) other than by claiming the settlement via Walk in the Park.
  • The player character will retain control of this settlement if siding against Far Harbor after previously claiming this settlement.

Appearances[]

Longfellow's cabin appears only in the Fallout 4 add-on Far Harbor.

Behind the scenes[]

The island upon which Longfellow's cabin is built corresponds to the real-world Bar Island.
