And just in time, as it turns out. The forces of Caesar's Legion are on the march, establishing a staging area east of the dam.Robert House

The Legate's camp is a location in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.

Layout[]

Situated east of Hoover Dam and south of the Fort, the site of the camp is surrounded by cliffs and mountains on all sides. It cannot be accessed until the final quest of the game, and the manner of that happening depends on the chosen faction: the quest either starts in the camp with Veni, Vidi, Vici (Legion), or ends in the camp with Eureka! (NCR), All or Nothing (House), or No Gods, No Masters (Independent/Yes Man).

At the entrance of the camp, there are a few praetorian guards, one standing directly in front of the hill and two in the small encampment to the left. On the right side of the entrance to the camp, there is a cage with Legion mongrels. The cage door can be sabotaged so that it will not open, however, the dogs inside can still be attacked. There are several Prime Legionaries armed with marksman carbines and power fists throughout the camp.

On top of the hill within the camp is the Legate's war tent and, during a non-Legion ending quest, Legate Lanius stands at the top of the rocky incline. The tent cannot normally be entered due to being inaccessible, only during Veni, Vidi, Vici to meet Lanius, where there is a Praetorian guard on the right, and a slave sitting on the left, along with mutilated bodies lying on the table in the center.

Notable loot[]

Notes[]

If one continually swings a non-automatic melee weapon and avoids striking Lanius with it, he won't immediately initiate dialogue and one can approach the tent, though doing so will turn everyone in the camp hostile including Lanius.

Appearances[]

The Legate's camp appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.
