This page is about the weapon that appears in Fallout: New Vegas. For appearances in other games, see lead pipe.

The lead pipe is a weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.

One of the ends has tape wrapped around it to improve grip, while the other is heavily corroded and/or bloodstained, and topped with a pipe fitting. Though it has a short reach, it has decent damage and a fast swing, making it an especially good melee weapon for players who are just starting out.

Special attackEdit

It has a special Lights Out attack that does 125% damage in V.A.T.S. at the cost of 6 more action points (requires a Melee skill of 50).

Note: Melee weapons do double normal damage in V.A.T.S.

It is possible to execute Lights Out outside of V.A.T.S. (without the required Melee skill of 50 to perform the move) by initiating a power attack (hold attack button) while moving forward.

The lead pipe can successfully strike about 245 times from full condition before breaking.

  • The Humble Cudgel - A unique version of the lead pipe found in the Sealed sewers.
  • Raul's lead pipe - A unique non-playable lead pipe used by Raul Tejada. It only differs from the standard lead pipe in its reach.

  • The lead pipe has a tendency to make enemies' appendages explode upon impact.
  • The special move for this weapon is called "Lights Out!", a common term for being knocked out or killed by a blunt object.
  • With a combination of the perks Slayer, Melee Hacker and the rushing water chem, the special attack for this weapon can allow the player to move faster than running by holding down the attack button.
