It's, uh, I'm pretty sure I know this one... right above the heart?

Lane is the doctor in the town of Jericho in 2253.

Background[]

Intermediate character. Runs Jericho's general store and serves as the town "doctor". In reality, Lane has no medical skills, relying entirely on drugs to fix his clients. He's a new arrival, and rather cheerful in comparison to the rest of the town.[1]

Quests[]

Effects of player's actions[]

  • The Prisoner can work out Lane is not a real doctor and threaten to expose him unless he gives the Prisoner a discount on his wares (10%, 20%, or 30%, depending on skill). Alternatively, the Prisoner can teach Lane how to deal with broken bones and a few other basic treatments.[6]
  • If the Prisoner resolves the problems with the water plant, Lane's store will have more valuable items for sale. If the Prisoner sabotages the water plant, all named characters except Lane and most generic NPCs will be gone from the town.[7]
  • Sending Doc Lane to the gallows along with Jeremiah Rigdon and Ivan will earn the Prisoner the epithet of "Hangman's Friend."[8]

Other interactions[]

If the Prisoner has low Intelligence, Doc Lane will inform him he should have taken more Mentats when he was growing up.[6]

Appearances[]

Lane was to appear only in Van Buren, the canceled Fallout 3 by Black Isle Studios.
