Knock-Knock is a unique weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.

Knock-Knock is a cleaner, more powerful version of the fire axe, with a matte black handle and a polished steel head with a longer fluke.

Special attackEdit

It has a special Mauler attack, which does 50% damage in V.A.T.S. at the cost of 5 more action points (APs), but has a chance to knock down enemies (requires a Melee skill of 50).

Note: Melee weapons do double normal damage in V.A.T.S.

It is possible to execute Mauler outside of V.A.T.S. (without the required Melee skill of 50 to perform the move) by initiating a power attack (hold attack button) while moving forward.

Knock-Knock can successfully strike about 545 times from full condition before breaking, 450 times less than the regular fire axe.

It is found in Camp Searchlight's fire station. Once the key is obtained from Logan, head upstairs and search the bathroom stalls, look in the right side corner of the stall with the skeleton to find Knock-Knock. However, it is in very poor condition and requires repair.

  • Logan can be killed or the quest, Wheel of Fortune can be completed to obtain the key.

Behind the scenesEdit

While the standard fire axe is a pick-head axe (also traditionally called a fireman's axe) intended for use in structure fires, Knock-Knock appears to be a Pulaski tool. The Pulaski (named after its inventor, legendary US Forest Service firefighter Ed Pulaski) is a wildland firefighting hand tool that combines an axe and an adze. It is an extremely versatile tool that can cut, scrape, grub, or dig.
