She was one of the people working in Nuka-Cola bottling plant's secret lab on the new Nuka-Cola Quantum recipe. Unlike most of her colleagues, she thought that the recipe should be tested more and that the glowing urine caused by the isotope strontium-90 was a disturbing effect. She did not want to continue working on Project Cobalt after the Great War, and was shot and killed by Rex Meacham upon trying to leave.
Her voice can be heard on three tapes of the Meacham recordings.
It is unknown whether the female skeleton in the Secure beverageer lab belongs to Kate Leavitt or Ruth.
