She worked at the research and development department. She was part of the team that developed the Vim Captain's Blend. After being frustrated by Norman Fuller's vague request for a drink that captured "the taste of Main," her team mixed fiddlehead greens, lobster shells, and a couple of other extracts with bottles of Vim to produce the Captain's Blend. To her surprise, the mixture turned out to be popular in taste testing. She would later add aster to the mixture to mask the aroma from the lobster shells.
