Ice cold Nuka-Cola is a variant of Nuka-Cola and a consumable item in Fallout: New Vegas.
Background
Nuka-Cola entered the beverage market in 2044, with the invention of the soft drink by John-Caleb Bradberton after two years of experimentation. Though strictly unhealthy (containing 120% of the recommended daily allowance of sugar), it took the United States market by storm and within a year it could be purchased nationwide. Its popularity rapidly increased and within several years it was the most popular beverage across the globe.[1][2]
The unique taste of Nuka-Cola is the result of a combination of seventeen fruit essences, balanced to enhance the classic cola flavor.[3][4] The balance is precarious and minute adjustments can affect it severely. Such was the case when the freshly launched Nuka-Cola was reformulated in response to the Great Passion Fruit Famine of 2044 and consumers noticed the change in flavor.[5]

Characteristics
It is created using the workbench, the only ingredient being Nuka-Cola, provided that the player has chosen the Nuka Chemist Perk. It restores a total of 80 HP in 20 seconds (4 HP per second), decreases Sleep by 60 and increases Dehydration by 10 (Hardcore mode) also adds 2 Rads.
Crafting
This item can be crafted by the player after having taken the Nuka Chemist perk.

This item is also craftable via a dialogue option with Veronica, or with ED-E (with at least 1 rank of the Camarader-E perk).
Variants
Locations
- Three can be found at the bar in the Mojave Outpost.
- Two can be found in Camp McCarran.
- With the Nuka Chemist perk, for every three bottles of Nuka-Cola, two bottles of ice cold Nuka-Cola can be made.
One can be found on the floor of the kitchen of house #102, in Higgs Village.- Some can be found in the kitchen of the Ultra-Luxe in a freezer surrounded by empty bottles.
Notes
- Consuming an ice cold Nuka-Cola provides a single bottle cap, just like any other Nuka-Cola product.
- Ice cold Nuka-Cola will never get warm. It will stay chilled in your inventory indefinitely.
- Nuka-Cola can't be chilled by conventional means, thus why the ordinary fridges throughout the wastes do not hold any in their inventory (assuming the ordinary fridges still work to begin with).
- Despite the boosted effects, it has the same value of regular Nuka-Cola.
Behind the scenes
- During the 2008 E3 as a promotional item, people were given a real drinkable version of Nuka-Cola. It greatly resembles the 1950s look of the Coca-Cola brand bottles.
- From 2015 to 2016, a real limited-production version of Nuka-Cola Quantum could be purchased online and in Target stores worldwide.[Non-game 1]
- Its logos, bottle designs, market crash, and even its name are heavily based on The Coca-Cola Company.
- The name of the Nuka-Cola creator, John-Caleb Bradberton, is an amalgamation of the inventors of Coca-Cola (John Pemberton) and Pepsi-Cola (Caleb Bradham).

Nuka-Cola began its journey in the year 2042 when our founder, John-Caleb Bradberton, was a budding chemist. He dreamt of a delicious soft drink that would provide energy, focus and 120% of the recommended daily value of sugar!
