After talking with a girl during the Here Kitty, Kitty quest, Austin is added to the vault hospital. Speaking with him begins Hole in the Wall.
Austin, a boy from Vault 81 was bitten by a mole rat when wandering in the secret lower level of Vault 81 and subsequently falls ill. The player character is asked to go into that part of the vault and find a cure. During the investigation, the player character discovers the true purpose of Vault 81, and finds the cure; however, there is only one dose left. The player character must decide - give it to the boy (who is in a coma now) or use it on itself, since during the quest the player character also was infected with the Molerat disease.
Option: Give it to a boy
If the player character gives the cure to the boy, they receive rewards and the overseer grants you a room in Vault 81. As a side effect, the disease remains in the player character (-10 max HP).
