Well, there ain't no easy way out. Trust me, I've looked. Can't even find anything to pry open, see what's blocking the doorway. I'm thinkin' they did us a favor, putting us together in here like this. And I say we use it to our advantage.Somah

The holding cells are a location on board Mothership Zeta.

Background

The holding cells are where you start Mothership Zeta. There are many holding cells, with only a few people occupying them. One has the Lone Wanderer and Somah, one has an insane Rivet City security guard (not able to talk, but able to kill), one has a dead Enclave officer, and another has a small girl named Sally, who is extremely knowledgeable about the ship.

Layout

This is the place where the Lone Wanderer and Somah are being held captive by the aliens. It has only one entrance and one exit.

Notable loot

In this first area you will be able to retrieve all the inventory items you were carrying before you were abducted. The container is inside a small room to the left, after Sally opens the locked door for you. In a room to the left of your holding cell, there are alien captive recorded logs 14, 15 and 22; in the room to the right are recordings 1, 3 and 12.

Notes

  • This is one of few areas of the ship that will be accessible after the player has completed the main (This Galaxy Ain't Big Enough...) quest.
  • If you kill the Rivet City security guard, you will lose karma and the guards at Rivet City will somehow know about the murder.
  • If you attack the guard but allow her to live, Somah will attack her afterwards.
  • Soon after the Lone Wanderer awakes in the holding cell, another prisoner will be seen kicking and screaming as a claw-like device carries him away.

Appearances

The holding cells appear only in the Fallout 3 add-on Mothership Zeta
