Contents

[edit] Background

On July 13, 2268, Officer Gomez attends the Lone Wanderer's tenth birthday party in the Cafeteria. He jokingly teases Stanley Armstrong that he would blind the Lone Wanderer when Stanley turned the lamps on. Officer Gomez and Amata Almodovar engage in small talk about his attendance at the party and how they relate to his duties.

[edit] Interactions with the player character

If a scuffle occurs between the Lone Wanderer and Butch DeLoria over the sweetroll in the quest "Growing Up Fast", Officer Gomez will intervene. Butch will respect the security officer's authority and will walk away from the fight.

When the Dweller escapes, Gomez will be found helping Stanley and Andy. Provided the Dweller does not attack Gomez, he warns the Dweller that security is on the lookout for him. Gomez believes that James is innocent, and suggests the Dweller leave the Vault to find his father.

During Trouble on the Homefront, If he is still alive, Gomez will be the first Vault resident you run into. If you stay civilized with him, he can take you to either Amata or the current overseer. if Allen Mack attacks you while any guards are around, the guards will immediately come to his side to protect him. This includes Officer Gomez.

[edit] Notes

  • If you attack anyone in vault 101 during Trouble on the Homefront he'll become hostile.
  • In a mailbox in Springvale, just outside of Vault 101, is a letter addressed to the Gomez family inviting them to join Vault 101. Presumably, this Gomez family are the ancestors of Officer Gomez and his child, Freddie.
  • Instead of waiting to speak with you like he's supposed to, Officer Gomez will sometimes rush into the melee between Andy and the Radroaches before you even get near their area. This can result in him being accidentally killed by Andy's flamethrower.
  • After completing the quest Trouble on the Homefront ( thrown the Vault into chaos ) it is possible to meet him in front of Tenpenny Tower. If you try to speak to him he can turn hostile to you, because you've thrown the Vault into chaos.
