H&K G11 is a rifle that revolutionized assault weapon design. The weapon fires a caseless cartridge consisting of a block of propellant with a bullet buried inside. The resultant weight and space savings allow this weapon to have a very high magazine capacity.

Using 4.7mm Caseless ammo, the H&K G11 is a weapon found in the mid-latter parts of Fallout 2. It can be found on Frog Morton, Felix, as a gift from Randal for completing Roger Westin's holodisk quest.

Although this gun is powerful, it is not as powerful as the H&K P90c submachine gun during burst firing, because this rifle only fires 5 shots per burst. The H&K G11E is a much superior version, capable of doing more damage per bullet, longer range and fires 7 rounds per burst.

The real-world counterpart for the G11 was developed for the German Bundeswehr, but never entered full production (around 1000 were produced and delivered) because the newly reunified Germany had the whole weapon stockpile of two armies so the additional costs of continued G11 production weren't justified. It was entered into the US Army Advanced Combat Rifle program in August 1989 with the aim to replace the M16A2 but it failed to produce the 100% score increase. In 2004, the design license was bought by the Lightweight Small Arms Technology project to design a light machine gun using multiple elements of the G11; as of 2009, the LSAT LMG is already in the prototype phase with significant improvement over existing weapons.
