Security Chief Gustavo is a resident of Tenpenny Tower in 2277.

Background

Gustavo was born in 2235. Gustavo is the head of security at Tenpenny Tower, and attends to the protection of Allistair Tenpenny as well as the other residents. Gustavo is naturally concerned with the intentions of Roy Phillips and his group, and speculates that he is planning to rush Tenpenny Tower with hordes of feral ghouls. When the Lone Wanderer first encounters Chief Gustavo, he is denying Roy Phillips entry into Tenpenny Tower through an intercom. He gets mad very easily as Dashwood would imply saying he turns a "delightful shade of purple."

Daily schedule

After the player's first encounter with Gustavo, he is found sitting in the lobby of the hotel or sleeping outside during the night, most of the time he will stand guard at the entrance.

Appearances

Gustavo only appears in Fallout 3.

Bugs

  • If the player chooses to kill the ghouls in the Tenpenny Tower quest, Gustavo might erroneously mention Tenpenny letting the ghouls into Tenpenny Tower.
  • Playstation 3Playstation 3Playstation 3 If all humans and Chief Gustavo are killed and the are ghouls living in Tenpenny Tower, the ghoul residents will still comment about Chief Gustavo as he was still alive.
  • If Tenpenny is killed, most of Gustavo's dialogue is still carried out as if Tenpenny is alive, but he has dialogue about how he took over after Tenpenny died.
  • Sometimes, Gustavo will be asleep on a mattress in the ruined building southeast of Tenpenny Tower.
  • If you kill Gustavo after killing Tenpenny then decide to take the ghoul's side in the Tenpenny Tower Quest, his body will spawn the generator room key.
  • If the player turns the residents of Tenpenny Tower hostile towards them, Gustavo may run out of the hotel and not return making it very difficult to find him.
  • Sometimes when meeting Gustavo will be standing near the front gate intercom with all normal dialogue still available, but he won't ever move from that spot unless he is rendered hostile towards the player or attacked by a nearby creature. After surviving an attack he will stand wherever he was when the battle finished and not move again from his new spot.
  • Sometimes if you set movement speed to 20 and toggle clip after killing the ghouls, Gustavo will be outside the gate suspended in midair (dead) with one leg blown off and no hostiles around.
  • Sometimes when you fail at pickpocketing him, he will take your equipped weapon and put it in his inventory, particularly when using a silenced 10mm pistol.
  • Gustavo may completely disappear from Tenpenny Tower without notice.
