Well, there's a general store just up the road. Run by a fella named Chet. He don't got nothing fancy, but he's got your basics covered.Doc Mitchell

The Goodsprings General Store is an unmarked location within Goodsprings in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.

Layout[]

Situated to the north end of the town, a Mojave Express dropbox can be found outside on the front proch.

Inside, there will be two small pillar-like bookshelves in the main room, along with some shelves and a small back room. An armor chest can be found by the bottom of the counter. Chet typically moves from behind the counter to sweep around the floor.

Notes[]

  • A Nuka-Cola Quantum banner can be seen hung up in the store despite the drink's rarity on the West Coast
  • The store has a unique trait where the sound of a pendulum clock ticking can be heard inside, suggesting this store might actually have a working clock. The only other location this can be found in the game is inside house #108 in Higgs Village during the Old World Blues add-on.
  • There is a shovel on the right from the door that cannot be picked up.
  • Chet's inventory is linked with the store cell itself. For example, buying a can of Pork n' Beans from him will remove the physical copy of the item from the store shelves. This does not occur with every item sold by him.

Appearances[]

The Goodsprings General Store appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.

Behind the scenes[]

The in-game Goodsprings General Store is based on the real-world location of the same name in the town of Goodsprings, Nevada. The location was renamed "Ghost Town Cafe" in 2017, although the welcome sign still reads "Goodsprings General Store." The details of the real-world location are similar to those seen in-game, including the layout of the store, proximity to the saloon, design of the ceiling and walls, the shape of the building, and external signage.
