*A bug exists that can be used to get all the gold bars out of the Seirra Madre. First, when you go to get the bars, bring plenty of junk items you can throw away with you. Pick up all the gold bars (yes, over encumbering you) and leave the vault. disarm Elijah so you can work in relative peace DON'T KILL HIM. on the side of the room that Elijah enters from there is a second shielded door close to the door you must eventually escape from. stand next to that shielded door with your full inventory. SAVE HERE. In order to get the gold out, you need to drop so many items by the shield door that the game runs out of space to spawn any more items on your side of the door, forcing the game to start spawning items in the only place it can, on the other side of the shield door. FIRST: Dump your junk inventory taking note of the order of the items you drop, and which items actually make their way to the other side of the door. you'll want to drop the gold among the latter items. SECOND: load save, repeat the previous process, dropping the gold with the items that spawn on the other side of the shield door next to the exit (this might take several trys). once successful, murder that a@#hole Elijah in cold blood and race for the exit. scoop up your gold by the door and get OUT! its recommended to have the Big Mountain Transportalponder for swift and easy recovery once once back in Mojave. Not the simplest approach, but once you get to hear all the "let it go" jazz at the end, knowing you got away with the big bucks makes enduring the head popping, poison gas ridden, ghost infested, troll hole that was the Sierra Madre feel totally worth it.

Gold bar is a miscellaneous item in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Dead Money.

Locations

You can find 37 gold bars in the Sierra Madre Vault, which is accessible only during the quest Heist of the Centuries. Due to their tremendous weight and the script of the final quest-line, it is difficult, but possible, to retrieve them all.

There are 36 gold bars on a table to your right as you open the vault door together with some pre-War money, and the 37th is on the desk near the Vault control terminal.
