The Geiger counter is an essential tool for surviving in the wasteland, allowing the user to monitor the ambient radiation and their own rad count.[1][2]
Models[]
Wattz C-Radz Geiger counter[]
A simple device manufactured by Wattz Electronics to detect the presence and strength of radiation fields, such as gamma radiation.[Non-game 1] Includes a carrying handle and a modern, durable shell for increased portability and ease of use.[3] Its battery life is displayed in the interface bar's ammo meter.
Pip-Boy Geiger counter[]
From at least the Pip-Boy 2000 Mark VI onwards, all models of the RobCo Industries Pip-Boy had a miniaturized Geiger counter integrated into the outer shell of the device, with most models having a small mechanical counter near the top left of the screen and a more detailed radiation count within the condition tab.
Behind the scenes[]
- A Geiger counter was recreated for Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, but never made it into the game.
- The Wattz C-Radz Geiger counter was meant to appear in Van Buren.
