I take great pleasure in being a PERFECT character, I always save dean because even the most evil people have a nice lining, and his ending sounds cool, he winks at the sierra madre then leaves for the wasteland, that is so me, dean reminded me a lot of me actually, the whole cynical yet humourus outlook on life, and the ability to make ANYTHING no matter how evil to work for me... I don't go out of my way to kill him, but I won't bend my PC out of character to spare him either. He's not that likable, and anyway New Vegas kind of taught me early on that making the right judgement every time, always getting the result you want and never having any regrets is more or less impossible. I don't mind my choices not being 'perfect'.

I liked Dean. Not only was he the first guy I rescued, and stuck with him for almost the entire DLC (my character wasn't intelligent enough to communicate with Christine, and both Dog and ''especially'' God freaked the shit out of me), but his sarcasm and attitude was enjoyable. Before you come to know that he's an evil bastard who blackmailed Vera with her drug addiction while secretly trying to destroy Sinclaire's life, he just seems like a witty, fed-up ghoul who reluctantly works with you for his own good. So when it came time to put a bullet in Dean (which I regretfully had to), I felt bad considering up until that point I thought he had even the slightest bit of gratitude for the Courier, and that the feelings were mutual. You make a good point. I would say the only real reasoning, besides wanting the "good"ending for everybody, is that anybody can go around and kill people (almost an easy way out) but it takes a greater human to take an evil man and turn him. Which can be argued for Dean at the end, he's obviously had a looong time to think about his actions and it feels good to be "the Courier saving the wastes" or whatever. I don't go out of my way to do it, I'm just a nice enough guy that my answers end up being the ones that keep him alive. In any case, he's more useful to me alive. --[[User:Delta Jim|Delta Jim]] ([[User talk:Delta Jim|talk]]) 06:56, December 24, 2012 (UTC)

Forums: Index > Fallout: New Vegas general discussion > Why do so many people want to spare Dean Domino?

Spoiler Alert! I was just wondering why so many players try so hard to spare Dean Domino by not offending him or anything when he's a sleazy sociopath who uses Vera's chem addiction against her, tries to rip off Sinclair, makes the villa fall apart out of spite, and is an egotistical bastard who is very willing to kill the player. BTW I have good karma and try to save as many people as possible but I made an exception for him. 76.173.96.93 22:03, June 30, 2012 (UTC)TheMan 6/30/2012

Of the three companions in Dead Money, he’s the only one I kill. I save God/Dog because I think deep down, he/they’re (both) decent and I don’t see how anyone could have anything against Christine. But as far as Dean goes, he’s pretty much scum and I take pleasure in killing him. ReapTheChaos 22:54, June 30, 2012 (UTC)
