The PA system is telling the residents the time the Vault door is supposedly suppose to open, and America will rise from its ashes like a phoenix.(My opinion) 01:19, March 30, 2011 (UTC)RandomDude

I think it's just to make people think that the door will eventually open and give a false sense of hope, as far as I'm concerned the fallout world will always be a radioactive wasteland... "Because War, War NEVER Changes" Silent 1 04:27, August 22, 2011

It could actually be a unique message for Vault 101, since the residents were never intended to leave the message could just keep adding years...

But they have to leave sometime, right? --The Ever Ruler 21:22, March 14, 2012 (UTC)

Vault 101 was to stay sealed forever, so no. Bacon-Man Talk to me goose! 21:27, March 14, 2012 (UTC)

Vault 101 is supposed to be sealed forever, thus (as someone already mentioned) the PA system constantly broadcasts that the world will be all safe so residents have something to anticipate! There is no way a mere 300 can clean up the mess of man. -ΣΔLet's talk! 21:41, March 14, 2012 (UTC)

Could just be that was a projected date that was presumed to be in a logical time frame for the surface to be viable for re population.
