But what about countries that have a kind of "diplomatic immunity", meaning no country wishing them harm, like Greenland, Iceland, and other countries like them?

@ Baseball bat- the immunity wouldn't have helped. An influx of refugees + the cessation of international trade + possible fallout effects basically would have cause massive instability in any country.

Obviously America and China are screwed irreversibly, as well as realistically there immediate neighbors, but what about the rest of the world? Britain perhaps? India? Africa? Do you think that rest of world is also destroyed? I mean, of course I realize that the ramifications from the detonation of so many missiles would have terribly worldwide consequences regardless...socially, economically, eviromentally, all that. Still, I wonder. Crossfire XVI 15:05, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

Europe and the Middle East are completely and utterly destroyed. 20 years of conventional war followed by nuclear bombardment. It's generally implied that the entire planet was covered in nuclear fire, and that the U.S. actually fared the best, hence why you have people like Dukov and Moriarty still immigrating there after the war. --GaussRifle 18:48, May 15, 2012 (UTC)
Even if a few countries weren't directly hit by nuclear weapons or anything or the sort they would soon fall to societal collapse, since so many of their neighbours and economic partners have been destroyed. --Skire (talk) 18:50, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

Are you sure Dukov and Moriarty are immigrants? I know they sound very foreign but honestly how the heck would they get here. The biggest boat I've ever heard of in the post-war fallout universe is Rivet City, but that doesnt even move. How do they get over here? Are you sure they didnt just have family that was very ethnic? they could of just grown of speaking like their parents did, who spoke like their parents did, who spoke like their parents did. Customs and accents take more than a few generations to die out, wouldn't you agree? Crossfire XVI 13:42, May 16, 2012 (UTC)
