I noticed that one of the tidbits of info at the loadscreens mentioned that certain people across the wasteland can teach you new techniques in unarmed fighting. I was wondering if someone else encountered this, or one of the people who teach these techniques? Although this almost makes me regret taking melee weapons, I still think throwing spear > martial arts. WanderingMerck 19:22, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I got a nice unarmed technique, that if you press "backward" while doing a full charged hit, you hit with the palm(in first person) and a low kick(in third person), its usefull in a fight and can be useful if you want to put someone to sleep with the boxing globes. This Technique is learned from Ranger Andy in Novac. He is always in a house. Braichu

i use that technique to kill people without losing points with there faction, knock down when no=one else is around, boone violently headshots the man, hes dead and i lose no points with the faction, gotta love that ranger guy for teaching it to me, lol youdeadbro? 09:23, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

hey, do you know another unarmed technique that the courier could learn?
the guy in the legion camp in the zars tent that will teach you a move if you have around a 70 unarmed skill

Some of the techniques can be learned but won't be available in VATS unless your Unarmed skill is at least 50. I think the Ranger Takedown is one of the few that can be performed outside of VATS.

The Great Kahns also teach an unarmed technique. Jack and Diane's quest line must be completed though. 01:05, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

After Veronica tells you about her desire for a nice dress, put 'formal wear' in her inventory. She then squeals with delight and teaches you the unarmed move 'Scribe Counter' (
