So, I recently downloaded the Van Buren demo, and I hate to say it, but I really hated the combat system. I don't think real-time combat is a good idea for the isometric Fallouts. It should have stayed turn based, like in 1 and 2 [which I think both had fantastic combat systems]. It was just annoying. I also know that the main game was intended to have both a real-time and a turn-based combat system, but in my opinion, why focus on a terrible combat system at all? If you're going to reply, please don't insult me for saying I didn't like it [seen that happen before], but actually post your thoughts on the demo. Broeman 09:58, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

The combat system in the tech demo was not actually what was going to appear in the final game. The engine was previously used for the (also canceled) Baldur's Gate 3, and the combat system in the tech demo was from there. The final game was going to let you choose between turn-based and real-time, but the real-time system was going to be the "continuous turn-based" from Fallout Tactics (with rechargable action points), and the default one was going to be turn-based.
