So how important do you think critical chance is - mainly in regards to a stealth character? Also I realise explosives aren't under the purview of critical chance, so I won't be mentioning them.

Obviously for energy weapons they are too noisy for stealth to really be an option, but for any other weapon type that is silent (some guns, melee and unarmed weapons) I don't see why a high critical chance is necessary? Surely if your stealthy enough, you should be able to score a sneak attack critical on everyone you meet; and it would also increase the skill needed to play the character as you couldn't rely on VATS dishing out a shed load of damage when you get found out - providing more of a challenge.

The reason I'm asking is I've only just finished purchasing all the DLC; and whilst Ulysses' Duster, Light Touch, 1st Recon Beret and Finesse might be interesting on one character it sucks the fun out of it a bit when it's on every stealth character you make. It seems like there are far more options if a person has only a middling Luck (6 to get Better Criticals) and ditches these perks in favour of something else as they have far more interesting equipment choices open to them. Have you ever tried a character who relied solely on sneak attack criticals (with a low critical chance) to dish out the pain? If so, how did it work out? Jojobobo 10:06, May 9, 2012 (UTC)
